About Us
We are Ross and Kim, a husband and wife team based near Reigate, dedicated to helping local wildlife in and around Surrey, England.
We are a non-profit organisation that help orphaned, injured or sick wildlife.
We operate together on an entirely volunteer basis - with Ross running the rescues and Kim dealing with the treatment, rehabilitation and daily care in the hospital and units - we receive no government grants or funding. Because of this, we rely solely on the generosity of donations from our wonderful surrounding communities to keep our doors open and hospital running for animals needing our help and expertise.

If you are unable to reach us, we are most likely on another rescue or dealing with a life critical situation in the hospital and can not pick up the phone.
Please send us a whatsapp message with your full address, reason for calling and photos of the casualty and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Alternatively, please visit helpwildlife.co.uk for other rescue options near you.
During busy times and after 5pm, it would be really helpful to us if, on occasion, callers could transport low risk animals to us, as we start the evening shift in the wildlife units.
We are always happy to provide updates on admitted animals via message only, however, during our peak seasonal influx or natural disasters, our priority remains on emergency rescues and hands-on care, which means it may take a few days for us to respond. We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding during our busiest times.

What We Do
RESCUE
If you find a wild animal in need of help and you are unsure what to do next, we can give you advice over the phone, ideally before you touch the animal in question.
Once instructed, please ensure the animal is safely contained in a suitable box if possible and kept well away from children and pets, in a quiet area indoors.
For larger wildlife, please stay with them until help arrives. Do not put yourself in danger and keep a safe distance but within eye shot of the animal. Injured wild animals can react unpredictably and could inflict serious injuries when stressed, frightened and in pain.
We will require a message to whatsapp on our emergency number 07932 052522, after your call containing the following:
Your name, address, reason for contacting us and a photo of the animal concerned is really helpful so we can further asses the situation and give you the relevant advice.
If we are local to you, we can come out and assess the animal further and if needed, transport back to our wildlife hospital, rehabilitation unit or to one of our wildlife friendly vets.
REHABILITATION
Our facilities consists of a full treatment room, hedgehog hospital, small prey rehabilitation unit, a separate large predator rehabilitation unit, incubator & nursery unit, pre-release assessment pen, multiple recovery pens and individual flight aviaries, soft release pens and a specially built 30ft flight pen & sanctuary for disabled feral pigeons & unwanted or retired racing and homing pigeons, all sited on our private 60 acre farm.
We work closely with our wonderful specialist wildlife vets to give each animal the best chance at a full recovery, and ultimately, their return back to the wild, whether thats a short stay, longer recovery period, life saving operations and/or physiotherapy. We provide round the clock care and will do everything we can to achieve a successful recovery for each patient.
We proudly hold a zero-destruction policy. Should an animals suffering be insurmountable, we ensure a gentle and humane end of life, only ever carried out by one of our trusted veterinary practices.
RELEASE
Once an animal has successfully made a full recovery and has been carefully assessed, they are prepared and transitioned back to the wild. Whenever possible, we aim to return them to their original rescue site - giving them the best chance to find their familiar territories, family groups and known feeding grounds so they can continue their lives as if their time in care never happened.
While returning an animal to its original location is always our first choice, there are times when that site is no longer safe or suitable. In these cases, we carefully select a secure, nearby alternative habitat. For species like fox cubs, hedgehogs and other small mammals & birds, this may also involve working and placing with willing land or homeowners who can provide a safe release site, monitoring, supplementary feeding and ongoing support as they settle into their new surroundings.
We work together with our surrounding communities to ensure the best possible future for every animal leaving our care and will continue to support them as and where needed.
